The Leathery Company announced this week that they have signed a lease for a new Family Farm and Home store for the Fontaine Plaza in the city’s south end retail district.
Work will begin in early September for the new 31,800-square-foot store that will open in the former J.C. Penney location, 1710 S. Main St., which closed May 31.
A spring 2022 store opening is planned.
Family Farm and Home is a family-owned and operated company based in Muskegon, Mich, Donald L. Leathery Jr. said. The company currently operates 66 stores in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Among the store offerings and departments include farm and ranch equipment, livestock supplies, feed, pet and wild bird supplies, home heating and cooling, automotive, hardware and tools, lawn and garden, sporting goods, clothing and footwear, and toys and gifts.
