Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports additional personnel will be working during the holiday weekend to help reduce crashes and concentrate on impaired and aggressive driving and other violations.
Woman transported to Mary Rutan after rollover crash
Stephanie McNeal, 43, 10890 State Street, Lakeview, sustained suspected serious injuries after a rollover crash on U.S. 33 West, west of County Road 10 at around 3:07 a.m. Tuesday.
McNeal traveled right off the roadway, side swiping a guard rail, then veering left through both lanes, crossing the median, rolling multiple times before coming to a rest in the left lane of U.S. 33 east bound.
McNeal was transported from the scene by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was cited for failure to control.
• A 16-year-old girl sustained serious injuries Tuesday as a result of a crash that occurred about 10:35 a.m. in the 600 block of Township Road 230 between states routes 540 and 47.
Destiny Mikes, of Rushsylvania, was southbound on T.R. 230, when she reportedly swerved to avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle operated by Courtney Shirley, of Bellefontaine, traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Destiny reportedly was trapped inside the vehicle when first responders arrived. She was flown by Medflight to Children’s Hospital in Columbus, and was listed in critical condition as of Tuesday evening.
Shirley told deputies that Destiny was traveling in the middle of the roadway prior to swerving to avoid a collision and overcorrecting.
Marysville woman cited for rear-end collision
Deputies responded to a rear-end collision Monday at about 3:21 p.m. on State Route 347.
Jennifer Myers, 27, 714 1/2 South Detroit Street, Bellefontaine, was traveling toward U.S. 33 on State Route 347.
Emma Peerenboom, 19, 1361 Mill Park Drive, Marysville, was following behind Myers. A vehicle cut in front of Myers, causing Myers to apply hard braking. Peerenboom was unable to brake in time striking the rear of Myers’s car.
Officers cited Peerenboom with an assured cleared distance ahead violation.
