The Second Harvest Food Bank will host its annual Empty Bowls event from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center cafeteria.
Empty Bowls is a series of fundraisers to support the food pantry that distributes more than 6 million pounds of food annually in Logan, Champaign and Clark counties.
Patrons of the event buy a hand-crafted ceramic bowl for a $15 donation and it is filled with soup and bread made by local restaurants, businesses or organizations. The bowls are made by Wittenberg University art students and local artisans, including Thelma Matthews’ Cracked Pot Studio.
For information or to become a sponsor of this year’s event, contact Rose Bradley at (937) 325-8715 ext. 133 or [email protected].
