Logan County voter turnout was at 51.2 percent in Tuesday’s general election. Also noteworthy, nearly as many people voted absentee or through early voting as did at the polls on Election Day. Ballots cast through absentee/early voting totaled 8,041 in Logan County, while 8,426 ballots were cast on Election Day. An additional 258 provisional ballots were cast in the county.
Logan County Board of Elections Director Adam Brannon also detailed that this is the first time that Logan County has used print on-demand ballots for an election.
“We’ll be one of the first locations in the state to use the print on-demand ballots,” he explained. “After voters check in, their ballot will be printed for them.”
Brannon stated that this change will be a savings both financially and in storage space.
“This is a way that we can cut down on costs and not needing as many pre-printed ballots, as pre-printed ballots cost us 35 cents per sheet.
“It also will help us greatly with storage concerns, as any of the pre-printed ballots we don’t use we have to keep in storage for a set period of time.”
