Enid J. Wolf, 85, of Belle Center, was transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in a crash Thursday.
Deputies report Connie R. Stone, 57, of Alger, was operating a northbound 2011 Chevrolet passenger car in the 1700 block of north U.S. Route 68 about 12:05 p.m. She reportedly attempted to turn left for the driveway at Ohio Limo and Coach and her vehicle struck the front of a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Captiva operated by Wolf.
Stone did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to yield when turning left.
Damage was heavy to both vehicle, which were towed from the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
• David E. Cushwa, 78, of Russells Point, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead related to a non-injury crash Wednesday in the 4300 block of County Road 130.
Deputies report he was operating a northbound 2018 RAM pickup about 11:40 a.m. and struck the rear of a northbound 2017 Chevrolet pickup operated by Joel B. Miracle, 45, of Belle Center, that had stopped and was waiting for southbound traffic before making a left turn.
Damage was light to the vehicles and the drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Driver issued summonses during traffic stop
Christian E. Matthews, 20, of North Lewisburg, was issued summonses for an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and for underage possession of alcohol during a traffic stop Thursday evening in Middleburg.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol in the village in the area of Columbus and Green streets about 7:40 p.m. observed that his vehicle had an expired registration and initiated the stop.
While speaking with the driver, Matthews, deputies observed an “overwhelming odor” of burnt marijuana. The driver said he had smoked marijuana around 3 p.m. that day.
Matthews also told deputies that there was an open can of beer in the vehicle.
