Elbert “Johnny” Bartley, 91, of Zanesfield, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016, in his home.
He was born May 16, 1925, in Pikeville, Ky., to the late Willard and Hama (Kiser) Bartley, the fourth of 13 children.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Brenda “Joyce” Bartley; daughter, Rhonda (Chris) Fulmer of Belle Center; sons, Terry (Jennifer) Bartley of Granville and Les (Jeannine) Bartley of Blacklick; grandchildren, Kathryn, Matthew, John, James, Travis, Joel, Dawn, Emily, Timothy, Jennifer, Leslie, Lucas, Jesse and Ray; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Elbert proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He worked for General Motors for 30 years before his retirement. Johnny loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and that devotion was seen in his love, help and concern for Leslie Rene, a granddaughter.
Graveside services begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, in Middleburg Cemetery, Middleburg, with Freshwater, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home, North Lewisburg, handling arrangements.
