Sherrie L. Johnson, 68, of DeGraff, was transported by Perry Township EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries sustained in a crash Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala about 3:05 p.m. on County Road 2 and then pulled from the stop sign onto State Route 292. Her vehicle was struck in the passenger side by a southbound 2012 Chevrolet Traverse operated by Leslee J. Simmons, 45, of Rushsylvania.
Johnson was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign. According to the crash report, Johnson was not wearing her seat belt, and Simmons was wearing her seat belt.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.
• Deputies report Sean K. Amerine, 25, of Zanesfield, was cited for failure to control related to a hit-skip crash that occurred last month.
Amerine reportedly was operating a westbound 2017 Honda Accord about 1 p.m. Aug. 16 on County Road 10 and went off the left side of the road, striking a mailbox at 8129 C.R. 10. The driver then left the scene without reporting the crash.
