Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating a rollover crash with ejection that occurred Tuesday evening on State Route 540 near Township Road 126.
Tyler Smith, age and address currently unavailable, reportedly was flown by MedFlight helicopter to the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Deputies report he was operating an eastbound Ford Ranger about 9:10 p.m. and failed to negotiate a curve, crossing the center line, traveling off the left side of the road, striking a telephone pole before rolling into a field and coming to a final rest.
Smith reportedly was ejected from the pickup at some point between hitting the pole and final rest, deputies said.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies observed the Ford Ranger in a field with a male identified as Smith lying on the ground near the truck’s final resting location.
Deputies are waiting on follow up with Smith to complete the crash report.
• Drivers Ireland R. Godsey, 19, of Belle Center, and Dale W. Albert, 61, of Kenton, each were checked for injuries at the scene of a crash Sunday afternoon by BMRT EMS personnel, but were not transported.
Deputies report Godsey was operating an eastbound 2005 Toyota Corolla on State Route 235 about 2:15 p.m. when she struck the rear of an eastbound Chevrolet Impala operated by Albert that had stopped to make a left turn onto Township Road 251.
Damage was heavy to the Godsey vehicle, which was towed from the scene, and the Albert vehicle sustained light damage. Godsey was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, deputies said.
