Marion Palmer, 84, of Bellefontaine, was transported by Huntsville squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for possible injuries sustained in a crash about 4:50 p.m. Monday on the south edge of Lakeview.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating an eastbound sport utility vehicle and stopped at the stop sign at state routes 720 and 235. She then drove into the intersection and failed to yield to a southbound SUV operated by Travis Smith, 23, of Lakeview, and her vehicle was struck by his SUV.
Mr. Smith did not report any injuries. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Ms. Palmer was cited for failure to yield.
Juvenile charged after school incident
A 12-year-old Lakeview boy was charged with persistent disorderly conduct following an incident about 8 a.m. Thursday at Indian Lake High School.
The boy reportedly was waiting on a bus for transport to the Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center when he and another student started engaging in horseplay. A high school principal said the 12-year-old started shouting obscenities and would not cooperate with staff.
The student was taken to the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
