Donna Mae Nelson Alltop Robinson, 92, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday morning, March 2, 2021, at Belle Springs Nursing and Rehab in Bellefontaine.
Donna was born on April 2, 1928 in Santa Fe, Ohio, a daughter of the late Noah Edward Nelson and Lula McBride Fite. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alva Alltop, a son, Andy Alltop, a daughter, Margaret Shields and three sisters, Virginia Parr, Betty Smith, and Twila Wise.
On March 19, 1955, she married Ronald “Jack” Robinson in New Castle, Ind., and he survives. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage. She is also survived by three children, Chris (Damon) Cockrel of Delaware, Ohio, Ronda (Ernie) Pitchford of Kingsport, Tenn., and Carol (Ron) Goings of West Liberty, a son-in-law, Rob (Vicki) Shields of Bellefontaine, seven grandchildren, Chad Keller, Dereck (Lindsey) Keller, Corey (Amanda) Pitchford, Megan (Bryan) Ropp, Caleb (Ellina) Shields, AJ Goings, and Carlee Goings, and 11 great grandchildren, Makenzie (Cole) Gordon, Hayden Keller, Kyler Keller, Trinity Pitchford, Miles Pitchford, Silas Pitchford, Calynn Ropp, Kaden Ropp, Maggie Ropp, Zeke Ropp, and Ansley Shields.
Donna was a 1946 graduate of Stokes Local School in Lakeview. She formerly worked at Copeland in Sidney, and One-Hour Martinizing in Bellefontaine. Donna enjoyed socializing taking drives and crocheting. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and talking with friends.
Reverend Bryan Meadows will begin funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Shoffstall Funeral Home North Chapel, 115 N. Main St., Lakeview, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio. Due to state Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, attendees are asked to be symptom free, maintain social distancing and wear a facial covering.
Memorials may be given in Donna’s name to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
