Richard D. Smith, 46, of 113 Iron Ave., Bellefontaine, was charged with two counts of domestic violence, along with one count of menacing and resisting arrest following an incident Sunday evening.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to his address about 9:50 p.m. in reference to an intoxicated man who was causing problems.
Officers were met by two of Mr. Smith’s family members, who stated that the defendant had just hit his son and had his wife Josephine on the ground.
When officers entered the home the defendant was intoxicated and threatened officers on several occasions.
Mrs. Smith said she had asked her husband to return home from the bar earlier in the evening, but he did not return for another five hours. He became angry when he returned home and assaulted her and reportedly struck their son.
While being taken into custody, Mr. Smith resisted efforts to be handcuffed and placed in the cruiser, officers report.
Several weapons were removed from the house because the defendant reportedly threatened to shoot police officers.
He was lodged in the Logan County jail.

• Michael D. Roark, 23, of 214 Spruce Ave., was charged with domestic violence following a 5:15 p.m. Sunday incident at 1600 S. Detroit St., Apt. 17, where he allegedly assaulted his estranged wife Stormie Leigh Anne Roark, 21. Ms. Roark was bleeding from the nose and said her husband had struck her across the face while delivering medication for their daughter.

• Stacy D. Queen, 36, was arrested for domestic violence and endangering children after a 4 p.m. Friday fight with her 15-year-old daughter McKenzie Clark at their 220 Ward St. residence.
She reportedly became angry with the girl and her other daughter Katelynn Queen, 12, for bringing home a stray cat without permission. Ms. Queen reportedly struck McKenzie and pulled her by the hair.
She was taken to the Logan County Jail.
• Roxanne J. Miranda-Levings, 62, of 816 Eastern Ave., was issued a summons for domestic violence after a 5:43 p.m. Friday for allegedly assaulting her daughter, Royanne N. Wenger, 41, of the same address, during a fight over utility bills.
