Sophomore Connor Dixon continues to impress for Indian Lake’s wrestling team after placing second at the Maumee Bay Classic on Saturday at Oregon Clay High School.
In addition to Dixon, the Lakers had three other placers. Steven Major (220) was fifth, while Kurt Crockett (138) and Chance Daisy (145) were both eighth.
Delta won the 37-team event with 228.5 points, Wauseon edged host Oregon Clay 185.5-185 for runner-up honors, while Mechanicsburg took fourth with 177 points. The Lakers were 17th with 87 points.
“We were battle tested for sure this weekend,” said Indian Lake head coach Ryan Dickson. “While it is nice to reach that podium, and we applaud their efforts, we have to fix our mistakes by February to reach our ultimate goals.”
