The West Liberty United Methodist Church, in conjunction with other area churches, hosts a benefit dinner from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at the 202 Newell St., West Liberty, church for the family of April Rodriguez of West Mansfield.
Area churches have joined forces to host a benefit for April Rodriguez, left, of West Mansfield, who recently was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. |
Mrs. Rodriquez was diagnosed in January with Stage 4 lung cancer, with spots on her liver and an enlarged kidney because of pressure from the lung tumor.
The 33-year-old mother is a daughter of Becky Linebaugh Napier of Rushsylvania and Alan Napier of Bellefontaine. She and her husband Julio, 39, have two children who attend Benjamin Logan Schools. Liliana is 11 and Edrian is six. The family lost a six-month-old child to DiGeorge disease and a congenital heart problem.
She is a licensed practical nurse and recently began working at Marysville Pediatrics after employment for six years at Green Hills Retirement Community.
Her insurance had not yet gone into effect at the time of her diagnosis. Mr. Rodriguez is currently at home because of his wife’s illness.
She has started chemotherapy at the James Cancer Center at The OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
The dinner includes chicken or beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, tossed salad, roll, pie or cake and drink for a donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
Check donations denoting Rodriquez benefit may be sent to the church at P.O. Box 606, West Liberty OH 43357.
