Family members host the “Big Daddy D” benefit dinner from 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday, April 16, at the Eagles Lodge, 213 W. Chillicothe Ave., with a raffle, door prizes, food and spirits.
Proceeds from the event go to assist William “Bill” Dowdy, known as Big Daddy D, with medical expenses after a his recent Guillain-Barre Syndrome diagnosis. Guillain-Barre is a disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous systems, affecting muscle use with potential paralysis.
Dinner is $8 and includes spaghetti, garlic bread stick, salad, fruit cocktail and a drink.
