Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help in identifying two female suspects who allegedly were involved in a theft Wednesday evening at the Huntsville Dollar General, 6793 Lima St., Huntsville.
Deputies were dispatched to the business about 6:30 p.m. after a Bellefontaine woman reported she made purchases in the store, and then had left her wallet and cell phone in a shopping cart when she left the business.
Upon reviewing Dollar General video surveillance, deputies identified a pair of suspects as an older woman wearing dark clothing and a young woman with longer hair and wearing lighter-colored clothing who were viewed on camera entering the store shortly after the victim left.
In the video surveillance, deputies said the suspects clearly notice the wallet in the cart and then cover it up with some items in the store. After the suspects finished their shopping, they reportedly left the store with the wallet and phone, deputies said.
The victim stated her walled contained her debit card, credit card, food stamp card, driver’s license and other personal items. Her cellular phone was described as a Galaxy Android smart phone. Deputies contacted her cellular phone service provider, who was unable to assist in any locations services.
The case information was also relayed to two Dollar General employees who advised the suspect(s) looked familiar, as if they previously had been in the store.
Deputies are asking anyone with information on the theft or the suspects to call the sheriff’s office, 592-5731.
