Daniel L. Green, 72, of Rushsylvania, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 11, 2021, at his home.
Daniel was born in Kenton on April 28, 1948, to the late Jesse Lowell and Mabel Frances (Titus) Green. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Jessica A. Green in 1980, brother Kenneth L. Green and sister-in-law Jean Green, brothers-in-law William Douglas Hurley, Brian Allen Prall, and David R. Collins.
Daniel married the former Marla Anne Brown on Dec. 16, 1972, and she survives in Rushsylvania. He is also survived by daughters: Danyelle (Jason) LeVan of Rushsylvania, Marlena (Ben Nye) Murray of Bluffton, Megan Green of Bellefontaine; sons: Thomas Green of West Mansfield, and Troy (Kristy) Green of Columbus; 14 grandchildren: Jessica (Zach) Lakin, Paige Yelton, Logan LeVan, Melissa LeVan, Alexandria Yelton, Wyatt LeVan, Madalyn Murray, Ryan Murray, Makala Nye, Elijah Nye, Bridgette Walters, Taylor (Blaine) Hunter, Tyler Green, and Tristan Green; brother-in-law Brian (Sharon) Brown of Bellefontaine; sisters-in-law: Susan Hurley of Bellefontaine, Rena (Tim) Turner of Port Charlotte, Fla., Eulaine (Ralph) Henman of Griffith, Ind., Denise Phillips of Belle Center, Erica Prall of Bellefontaine, Arleen (Stacy) Shirk of Bellefontaine, Holly Collins of Huntsville, and Beth Barnes of Bellefontaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for 45 years as a truck driver for Heritage Cooperative. Daniel was a member of the Rushsylvania Lions Club and attended Rushsylvania and Zanesfield United Methodist Churches. He was also a former member of the Rushsylvania Honor Guard.
Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m., where military honors will be provided at 6 p.m. by members of the Logan County Honor Guard. Due to current pandemic orders, please be symptom free, practice social distancing, and consider wearing a mask.
Private family burial will be at a later date in Equality Cemetery.
