Curtis A. “Mike” Black Jr., 76, of Zanesfield, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on May 6, 1945 in Champaign County, a son of the late Curtis Avery and Juanita Geraldine (Bradley) Black.
He married Judith (Louden) Black, who survives, and later married Joyce Black who preceded him in death.
Mike is survived by his two children, Jeannette (James) Gordon and Curtis (Becky) Black III; three stepchildren, Terry (Barb) Bateman, Debi (John) Whitehead, and Cyndi (Gabe Brown) Campbell; and former son-in-law, John Campbell; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a stepsister, Pat Harris.
Mike was a lifelong farmer who volunteered for many years with the Tri-Valley Fire Department in Zanesfield.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street in Bellefontaine, where Pastor Shelley Stephenson will officiate a funeral service beginning at 4 p.m. Burial will follow in Zanesfield Cemetery in Zanesfield.
