Brian C Hunt, 43, of 520 N. Madriver St., Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs relating to a single-vehicle injury crash about 10:05 p.m. Saturday.
He was transported by Tri-Valley EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries after the crash, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Deputies said he was operating a southbound 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe in the 2700 block of north County Road 9 when he drove off the left side of the road, struck a culvert. His sport utility vehicle then reportedly rolled end over end and came to a rest against a tree. Damage was heavy to the SUV, which was towed from the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies met with Hunt, who told them he had swerved to miss a deer. He also sustained cuts to his face and complained of injuries to his left arm. Deputies observed an odor of alcohol while speaking to him.
The defendant denied drinking any alcoholic beverages. He was transported to the hospital, where he later refused to perform field sobriety tests or submit to a blood sample. Hunt also was cited for failure to control.
• Autumn A. Adams, 33, of Wapakoneta, was charged with OVI and possession of marijuana following a non-injury crash Sunday evening near Quincy.
Deputies were dispatched about 8:50 p.m. to the area of north County Road 34 and Township Road 76 and upon arrival, they observed a 2009 Ford Fusion in the ditch.
The operator, Adams, was visibly uninjured and showed signs of impairment. She reportedly refused field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where she refused a chemical urine test.
The vehicle was towed from the scene. The defendant was released to a sober driver. She also was cited for failure to control.
Woman lodged for possession of drug abuse instruments
Passenger Mica M. Neal, 52, of 11458 State Route 720, Lakeview, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments relating to a traffic stop Friday afternoon.
Deputies reportedly stopped a vehicle in the area of the Midway Marathon, 8758 Township Road 239, Lakeview, because the male operator had a suspended license.
The three occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and K9 Thor was deployed on the vehicle. The canine indicated on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted by deputies.
During the search, deputies recovered two glass pipes in the center console of the vehicle.
The two other occupants of the vehicle told deputies that Neal had used the one of the glass pipe to smoke methamphetamine earlier that day. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where she later told deputies she used the glass pipe to smoke meth, but that the pipe did not belong to her.
Bar patron lodged
Jason A. Cahill, 44, of West Jefferson, was charged with disorderly conduct related to an incident Saturday evening at Froggy’s at the Lake, 11065 Township Road 293, Lakeview.
About 6:30 p.m., deputies working a special detail at the establishment were alerted to a man causing problems in the back deck area. Deputies observed the man screaming profanities at a bartender, who was attempting to get the man to sign his tab.
Employees told deputies that they had received complaints against Cahill disturbing others at the property and were attempting to get him to leave.
Deputies spoke with Cahill, who showed signs of heavy intoxication. Despite repeated requests for the defendant to calm down, he continued his behavior and was placed under arrest.
He was transported to the Logan County Jail, where corrections staff had to place him in a restraint chair.
