The Logan County Commissioners have set an April 19 meeting to hear from representatives of the wind development company EverPower but were clear that no payment in lieu of taxes has been requested.
EverPower representative and local project manager Jason Dagger requested the meeting as an informational update on the Scioto Ridge Wind Farm project, which currently includes plans to build 18 turbines in eastern Richland and western Rushcreek townships.
An additional 87 turbines are planned for construction in southern Hardin County.
Before proceeding in Logan County, however, the company must request the PILOT through the State of Ohio and the Logan County Commissioners will have final say on whether it is approved locally. That decision will not be made, however, until after a public hearing with a formal input session at a later date, commissioners stated in a news release Friday.
While the 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, meeting is open to the public, no action will be taken, the commissioners said.
“This is just a brief update meeting requested by Everpower,” the release reads. “The commissioners will not be considering or discussing a potential Payment In Lieu OF Taxes at this meeting. If and when a PILOT is filed, the commissioners will hold a public hearing to receive comments from the public concerning the PILOT.”
The Logan County Commissioners’ Office is located at 117 E. Columbus Ave.
