Logan County first responders from a variety of agencies and the Logan County Engineer’s Office gathered this week to kick off the Click It or Ticket campaign, which began Monday and continues through the Memorial Day holiday weekend. This effort brings law enforcement agencies across the nation together to focus on seat belt usage. In 2021, Logan County had five fatal crashes, and two of them were unbelted. Also last year, there were 42 serious injury crashes, with almost half of those crashes were unbelted. The fines in Logan County for seatbelt violations are $121 for drivers and $111 for passengers. Law enforcement agencies across Logan County will be working extra hours to make the roadways safe for motorist traveling through the county. Officers will also be focused on aggressive driving and impaired driving. “We want everyone to have an enjoyable and safe holiday weekend,” officials said. (SUBMITTED PHOTO)
