The Board of Logan County Commissioners is currently accepting applications for the position of County Administrator. The County Administrator serves on behalf of the Board of Logan County Commissioners and provides advice and assistance to County elected officials, appointing authorities, boards, and to the public.
Essential duties for this position include the administration, enforcement, and execution of Board policies and Resolutions; supervising, managing, and directing the staff and operations that are under the authority of the Board of Commissioners; reporting to the Board on pertinent issues; preparing financial reports, fiscal year budgets and advising the Board regarding the overall fiscal condition of the County. The County Administrator is also responsible for the preparation and execution of contracts and the implementation of County goals, programs, policies, procedures, and such other activities as may be authorized by the Board.
Qualifications for this position include a working knowledge of county government structure and operations, and applicable laws and regulations pertaining to county government. A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field is preferred. Substantial experience in managing personnel and administrative operations is preferred.
Other required knowledge, skills, and abilities include: Strong organizational, administrative, and customer service skills, proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related electronic media; and the ability to process financial transactions utilizing the County budgetary system.
Independent judgment and the ability to communicate effectively with County officials and the public is essential to serve in this position as is the ability to remain organized while performing multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. The possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s license and an acceptable driving record is a requirement. The preferred candidate will be required to undergo an extensive background investigation and a pre-employment drug screen.
