The Chieftains fell 7-5 in the first game of the doubleheader, but bounced back with a 1-0 win in eight innings in the second game.
The Chieftains are now 6-11 on the season.
“The first game we dug ourselves a hole that we just were not quite able to climb out of,” said BHS head coach Katie Buffkin. “In the second game, we played great defense and were able to push a run across in the bottom of the eighth inning.”
In the first game, Elida led 6-0 after three innings. Bellefontaine attempted to rally with five runs in the fourth inning to trail 6-5. The Bulldogs added one more run in the sixth inning and held on the rest of the way.
Offensively for the Chiefs, Jaelynn Roberts and Caitlin Hollar each had two doubles. Shelby Raney added a double.
Bellefontaine had just two hits in the second game, but managed to squeeze out a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to escape with the win.
