Facing the methodical style Urbana likes to play is a challenge many opponents have struggled with. That was the case for Bellefontaine on Tuesday.

In a game played at Indian Lake because of damage to Bellefontaine’s court, the Hillclimbers gutted out a 40-38 victory in a Central Buckeye Conference crossover game.
“That was a typical Bellefontaine-Urbana game,” said Bellefontaine head coach Henry Stolly. “It was back and forth and it was a good defensive battle. Both teams took each other out of their offensive rhythm. We were OK playing at their pace, but we had too many turnovers early in the game and that really hurt us.”
Bellefontaine is now 5-8 on the season, while Urbana moves to 10-4.
The Hillclimbers only allow 43 points per game, which is tops in the entire 12-team CBC. Bellefontaine was the latest opponent to struggle to find its flow. It was the second-lowest output of the season for the Chiefs.
“Every possession is crucial when you play Urbana,” said Stolly. “In a game like this, even when you are down only six or seven points it feels like you are down by 15.”
