Charles H. Rode “Chuck/Butch,” of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Dayton, Bellefontaine and Indian Lake, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Hylands Hospital in Sebring, with his daughter, Jenny, and his special friend, Sarah, at his side.
He was born in New York on Aug. 15, 1940, a son of the late Charles O. Rode and Delores E. Rode, who proceeded him in death, along with his wife, Carolyn S. Rode in 2010.
Chuck was a retired police officer from the Riverside Police Department, Dayton; Logan County Sheriff’s Office and finally, Stokes Township.
Chuck also was proceeded in death by two grandsons and a brother, Ronald J. Rode.
He is survived by his daughters, Jenny (David) Rohr of Kentucky and Beth Rode of Florida; and a son, Robert Rode of Florida. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Ann Amspaugh and Karen E. Vogel, both of Lakeview. He has 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who survive, along with numerous nieces, nephew and great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
