Calvary Christian School’s band and choirs, under the direction of Kirsten Fortier, recently traveled to and competed in Ohio’s Music in the Parks competition at Kings Island. The band and choirs collectively earned two first-place trophies and a second-place trophy. CCS‘s high school women’s choir took first place, the seventh- and eighth-grade choir took first place, and the sixth- through 12th-grade band took second place. Calvary was also chosen out of the 24 schools represented to win the most coveted award of the program: The Esprit de Corps, which is is the highest honor that any school can receive for the competition. The Esprit de Corps trophy is awarded to the school that best exhibits exemplary decorum, professionalism, respectful conduct and excellent presentation. (CCS PHOTO)
