Senior Cati LeVan surpassed the 1,000-point milestone Thursday as Triad’s girls basketball bounced visiting Franklinton 72-43 in a non-league game.
Cati scored a career-high 34 points in the win and now has 1,018 points for her career. She also broke the record for most three-pointers in a game with 10.
Cati joins her sister, Frani, in the 1,000-point club after Frani earned the milestone last week.
The Cardinals broke a six-game losing skid and improve to 6-13 on the season. The Firebirds drop to 5-9.
Triad got its offense rolling in the opening quarter with a 22-10 run. The Cardinals outscored the Firebirds in the second quarter 18-13, which gave them a 40-23 halftime advantage.
The third quarter saw Triad go on another big scoring run with an 18-5 streak. That pushed the Cardinals’ lead to a 58-28 score.
In addition to Cati LeVan’s 34 points, Frani LeVan had nine points, four rebounds and 10 assists, which ties the record for most assists in a game. Emma Ferguson added eight points and five rebounds.
Triad travels to Fairbanks on Saturday for another OHC contest.
