URBANA — Retired educator Larry Lokai of Urbana, received one of the nine 2016 alumni awards presented recently by The Ohio State University, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural education.
The former vocational teacher has been the OSU Buckeyeman since 1998 and distributed more than a million buckeyes as well as donating some 1,200 buckeye seedlings.
As a long-time poultry judge at county fairs and events throughout the country, he served several years as an adjunct instructor coaching OSU’s poultry team to national awards. He is a former 4-H and FFA adviser, as well.
He served on Urbana City Council for more than nine years and is involved with the Ohio Hi-Point Alumni and Friends board.
