Two teenage brothers are facing delinquency assault charges as officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department continue to investigate a series of attacks in the area of a bus stop on Madriver Street and Brown Avenue.
Cellular phone videos show Elijah T. Leeper, 14, of 314 N. Park St., and his 13-year-old brother along with their two sisters and another boy surround and attack Douglas Allen Sr. and his son, Douglas Allen Jr., on Tuesday.
The assailants knocked the father to the ground and began kicking and punching him.
Video also shows Foxi Carter, 33, the mother of the boys, enter a Bellefontaine City Schools bus Wednesday morning and exchange words with students. Her children are then seen coming onto the bus and attacking two students.
One of the victims claims she also was struck by Ms. Carter. Ms. Carter was charged Tuesday with two counts of assault and single counts of trespassing on a school bus and persistent disorderly conduct.
Late Wednesday, Logan County Family Court Judge Dan Bratka issued a custody order for the children to be removed from the home while also authorizing the arrest of the two boys for assault.
Logan County Children’s Services and officers took custody of two children at 8 p.m. at the family residence, while two others were located at 441 Spring Ave. Both boys were lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
The girls were taken into custody of children’s services.
