Deputies responded Sunday morning to the residence of Mary Sorrell, 11306 Hiawatha Path, Lakeview, who said an intruder had been in her house.
She said her dog woke her up about 4 a.m. and then saw a flash of light in her living room and reported hearing a “crunching sound” outside.
She then reportedly saw a man standing in her kitchen. She yelled at him to get out, and he reportedly ran out a back door. Deputies searched the area and could not find him.
Deputies observed muddy shoe prints in a bedroom in the home, and noticed that chairs had been stacked up by a window outside, likely to gain entry to the house. Investigation continues.
