Roger Allen, 36, of 850 Bonnie Lane, Apt. 200, was charged Friday with domestic violence and disrupting public services after he allegedly assaulted Kimberly L. Major, of the same address.
She met officers at the department offices around 11:40 a.m. and told officers the suspect became angry with her during a morning incident and began slamming her head into a wall. He also allegedly hit her with a phone, threw a lamp at her and removed a SIM card from her cellular phone.
She left the residence and called her mother from a neighbor’s residence. Her mother transported her to the police department to file a complaint.
Officers took photographs of Major’s facial injuries.
Allen was found at the residence after 2 p.m. and taken into custody.
Suspects turned over to Hardin County
A Springfield man was arrested Sunday on a failure to appear warrant and turned over to deputies of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office as they investigate a stolen vehicle complaint.
Marcus R. Burns, 25, was operating a reportedly stolen car around 8:15 p.m. which was westbound on Allen Road near Main Street.
An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department initiated a traffic stop and Burns was taken into custody. He claimed he was authorized to use the car and was making payments. Hardin County deputies confirmed the car was stolen and asked police to seize the vehicle as they were sending a tow truck to retrieve it.
Burns was taken to the Logan County jail on a Logan County warrant and held for Hardin County authorities despite family members posting his bond for the warrant.
Burns also was issued traffic citations for driving without a license and not using a safety belt.
• Jacob A.C. Roberts, 27, of 520 N. Detroit St., was arrested around 10:20 p.m. Sunday for domestic violence after deputies of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office filed a warrant for an incident in their county.
Roberts told officers he was at his girlfriend’s residence and she became upset with him. He claims the girlfriend assaulted him in front of their daughter and he left for Bellefontaine.
Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol as they spoke with Roberts. They also report he was cooperative with officers as they took him into custody.
He was transported north and turned over to Hardin County deputies.
Two men face charges
Richard C.R. Beaman, 27, at large, was arrested Sunday after he was caught entering unlocked parked vehicles around 3:05 a.m. in the 300 block of Miami Avenue.
He was detained by witnesses at the scene. While talking with officers, he admitted to entering a sport utility vehicle to search for food and loose change.
He has more than $16 in change on him along with a bottle of prescription medication.
Beaman was charged with possession of drugs, theft and vehicle trespass and lodged in jail.
• Blake Wilson, 111 W. High Ave., was charged with assault and disorderly conduct Sunday after he allegedly pushed a nurse at Mary Rutan Hospital and began yelling profanities around 2:55 p.m.
He was lodged in jail.
