Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities members participated in a training regarding the 2022 budget at their recent meeting, presented by LCBDD Business Director Lana Switzer.
She reviewed charts and other information utilized to create the 2022 budget, including the revenue sources, including local tax levy, Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (ODODD) and State of Ohio Department of Education (ODE), as well as federal sources such as reimbursements from the Medicaid program and ODE federal grants.
Switzer also reviewed expenditures in detail for 2022, and total annual expenditures from 2021 were shared.
Members approved the 2022 budget, as presented by the Business Director, stating that the projections reflect continued fiscal responsibility and stability.
“The LCBDD is committed to being good stewards of local, state, and federal resources and to the provision of services in our community in the most cost effective and efficient means available,” officials said.
“The objective of the Business Department is to maximize the quality and quantity of services provided to people with developmental disabilities through efficient management of the agency resources that align with the LCBDD strategic plan and five-year projection and assumptions,” Switzer related.
Members also approved several other motions including: the 2022 calendar; the observance of Juneteenth on Dec.23, 2021 (following the direction of the Auditor’s Office); the new health care provider; and a change in the personal leave policy;
A new employee, Tiffany Fultz, was introduced to the Board. The lifelong Logan County resident is the new secretary/clerk for the LCBDD and will be staffing the front desk of the office..
Discovery Center staff reported their October events. Oct. 28, the children enjoyed a Fall Celebration. They also were visited by the Bellefontaine Fire Department’s “Stop Drop and Roll” program and attended a book fair during October.
Oct. 29, Discovery Center employees attended staff development day, where they received training in trauma-informed care and crisis prevention intervention.
The Service and Support Administration department shared recreation events and updates throughout the month in celebration of DD Awareness and Employment Awareness.
“The many events and clubs coordinated through LCBDD allow individuals to be active and give back to the community through volunteer and fundraising opportunities,” representatives said.

Members approved a change in the next board meeting date to Monday, Nov. 29.
