The Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities honored Bonnie Versele, board president; Valerie Robb, vice president; Frank Giannola, secretary; and members Bridget Hawkins, Allen Huffman, Liz Bibart and Scott Steiner for their service during the Thursday evening board meeting.
Superintendent Saul Bauer thanked the board for their dedication to the LCBDD and the people served by the agency.
Each of the board members completed their annual required four hours of training and supported the agency in recognizing a year of accomplishments, including receiving zero citations during accreditation and a five-star rating for the state’s Step Up to Quality.
Because of these high ratings, the agency will not be audited again for another three years.
The superintendent also shared the results of the 2019 United Way Campaign. He said each of the county agencies joined together this year, raising $29,161.18 for a 17 percent increase from last year. An additional $2,276.18 was raised with fundraisers.
Bauer reported that the LCBDD also won the departmental United Way challenge for the county by raising $4,951, beating Family Court by $9. The agency will receive the traveling trophy for the year.
In financial business, at this point 83 percent through the year, the general fund is 69 percent utilized.
The Community Support Fund is 88 percent utilized and the capital fund is 62 percent utilized. Revenues are 97 percent collected.
The capital fund is 100 percent collected while the Community Support Fund is 161 percent collected.
Year-to-date expenses in the general fund are 1.57 percent lower than this time last year, and year-to-date revenue in the general fund is .066 percent lower than this time last year.
