Benjamin Logan High School senior Andrew Huffman attended Ohio Youth Fire and EMS Training Academy at Hocking College this past week for his second year.
This program allows youths to gain insight and interest in becoming long-term members of emergency services.
Participants from Ohio, New Jersey, and Arizona participated in instructional topics including foreground operations, aerial ladders, leadership, vehicle extrication and fire control, forcible entry, search and rescue, repelling and an EMS pulmonary lab using a pig cadaver.
Andrew is a junior member of the Bokescreek Fire and EMS based out of West Mansfield, serving under Chief Steve Fields and Assistant Chief Andy Huffman.
Andrew plans to attend Hocking College for Fire and EMS.
