The Blackburn Chasing the Cure “Blackie’s Ride” fundraiser is slated for Saturday, June 19, with registration from 10 a.m. to noon at Iron City Sports Bar, 1125 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, with all proceeds benefiting cancer research and patients.
The first bike leaves at noon, and an after party is planned at the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge, 912 S. Detroit St., with entertainment, door prizes and raffles including Chase Blackburn memorabilia.
Former NFL player, Marysville native and Blackie’s son Chase Blackburn and his wife, Megan, started the Blackburn Chasing the Cure in 2012 to raise funds for Ohio families battling childhood and breast cancers, along with cancer research.
Currently a special teams coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, Blackburn plans to attend Saturday’s activities, organizers said. For more information, call Bill Sadler at (937) 597-1052, or visit www.blackburnchasingthecure.com.
