Tigers’ Rollins earns individual berth
Benjamin Logan’s girls bowling team is headed back to the Division II state tournament after finishing third in the district tourney Monday at Beaver-Vu Lanes in Beavercreek.
The top four teams earned state berths. Greenon won the district tourney with a total of 3,828. Ft. Loramie was second with 3,693, the Raiders were next with 3,632 and Graham took the final state ticket with a 3,536.
Competing as an individual, West Liberty-Salem’s Katie Rollins grabbed the fourth and final individual state berth with a series of 604 (190, 202, 212).
Indian Lake also competed in the 24-team event and finished in a very respectable seventh place with 3,458.
Kaylee Nicholas led the Raiders with games of 171, 196 and 189 for a 556 series, Erica Warne had games of 195, 149 and 196 for a 540 series, Addie Buckenroth had games of 169, 173 and 177 for a 519 series, Ashley Gantt posted a 181 game and Malori Barnes chipped in a 160 game.
The Lakers were led by Jalan Martin, who earned a spot on the all-tournament team with a 596 series. She rolled games of 169, 185 and 242.
Also for Indian Lake, Jaelyn Hughes had games of 196, 150 and 201 for a 547 series, Kayleigh Zedlitz had a 181 game and 490 series, Madison Kidder posted a 170 game and Keiko Shields added a 155 game.
The state tournament is Friday at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl.
