The Benjamin Logan boys soccer team opened its season by winning its own Quest Cup tournament on Friday and Saturday.
Following Friday’s 3-0 win over Urbana in the semifinals, the Raiders beat Tecumseh 3-1 in the finals Saturday night.
Ben Logan is now 2-0 on the season.
“What a great win tonight,” said Ben Logan coach Jamie Hughes. “After falling down early we showed a lot of composure and really played well. We moved the ball around well and created some good scoring opportunities. I’m really proud of our guys and it was such a great weekend. I’d like to thank all the people who made this weekend possible and the team from Urbana, Tecumseh and Jackson Center.”
Tecumseh jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Ben Logan battled back. The Raiders evened the score at 1-1 when Tyler Cabot scored five minutes before halftime.
Cabot scored the go-ahead goal with 12 minutes left in the game and Michael Rostorfer knocked in a free kick to tack on an insurance goal with 4:21 left.
In junior varsity action, Ben Logan lost to the Arrows 5-1. Seth Jones scored the lone goal for the Raiders.
