Rosalyn L. Troyer, 33, of Belle Center, was transported by BMRT EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of possible injuries after her bicycle was struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a southbound bicycle along State Route 638 near County Road 113 about 3:15 p.m.
A southbound Dodge Ram pickup operated by Timothy D. Shoffner, 63, of Bellefontaine, struck the bicycle, causing the bicycle to overturn. Shoffner then pulled over his vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway after the crash.
Shoffner did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Damage was light to the pickup and heavy to the bicycle.
• Deputies also responded to a head-on collision with no reported injuries about 6:30 p.m. Christmas Even at the intersection of U.S. Route 33 and State Route 274.
Marcus L. Weaver, 19, of Arthurdale, W.Va., was operating a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado on S.R. 274 and stopped at the stop sign at U.S. 33. He then proceeded to make an eastbound turn onto U.S. 33.
His vehicle was struck head-on as it pulled onto U.S. 33 by a westbound 2021 Acura TLX operated by Matthew D. Landers, 42, of Wapakoneta.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the crash. Weaver was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
• Johnathon D. Johnson, 40, of Belle Center, was cited Friday for no operator’s license related to a non-injury rollover crash that occurred the evening of Dec. 3.
He reportedly was operating a southbound 2002 Acura MDX on Township Road 110 about 10:25 p.m. when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, and then came back onto the road and off the left side. The SUV continued through a yard at 10090 T.R. 110.
The vehicle then struck a tree and overturned, coming to a rest beside a house. Damage was heavy to the SUV, which was towed from the scene.
Following the crash, deputies spoke with the homeowner of the residence, who told deputies that Johnson told her he would be back in the morning to pick up his vehicle.
Deputies tried multiple times to make contact with the driver at his residence to issue him a citation, and Friday, they were finally able to make contact with him.
Suspect charged with possession of cocaine
Jordan C. Williamson, 31, of Columbus, was charged with possession of cocaine related to an incident Christmas Day.
Deputies responded to a call for service around midnight relating to a suspicious vehicle parked at the Marathon gas station, 6990 State Route 117, Huntsville while the business was closed.
Upon arrival, deputies noticed located the vehicle in the parking lot and said the driver, Williamson, appeared to be sleeping or passed out in the driver’s seat. Within plain view, deputies observed a piece of tin foil and a small torch lighter on the passenger seat.
The driver was awakened by deputies and deputies noticed that he displayed signs of impairment.
Williamson was removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted, with deputies recovering a foil pack with a yellow substance, along with many other foil pieces with burn marks and several straws containing a white powder residue. At the Logan County Jail, the foil packet tested positive for crack cocaine in preliminary testing.
The defendant was placed under arrest and lodged in the jail. A report will be sent to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of additional charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia.
