Bellefontaine’s swim teams wrapped up the regular season by competing in the Irish Invitational on Sunday at Wittenberg University, with the boys finishing first and the girls team taking second.
“This is always a fun meet for our team,” said BHS head coach Sharon Lewis. “We close out the regular season allowing the swimmers to choose their own events and this meet also has two ‘just for fun’ relays.”
Elias Abrego won the 500 freestyle and took third in the 50 freestyle to help spark the Chieftain boys to their win.
Getting a relay win was the 200 freestyle group of Aidan Mifsud, John Fulmer, Abrego and Blake McDonald.
Taking second for the Chiefs were the medley relay of McDonald, Mifsud, Abrego and Fulmer, the 400 freestyle relay of Cooper Harman, Jaylen Henry, Cody Hudson and Ryan Alexander and McDonald in the 100 freestyle.
Finishing third for BHS were Alexander in the 200 IM, Abrego in the 50 freestyle and Mifsud in the 100 freestyle.
Taking fourth for the Chiefs were the medley B relay team of Henry, Hudson, Nolan Core and Cooper Harman, Alexander in the 100 backstroke, McDonald in the 50 freestyle and Fulmer in the 100 freestyle.
Adding fifth-place finishes for the Chiefs were the 200 freestyle B relay team of Core, Cooper Harman, Beckham Harman and Henry, Mifsud in the 50 freestyle and Core in the 100 freestyle.
For the Chieftain girls, Morgan Henry led the way with wins in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Contributing second-place finishes for BHS were the 200 freestyle relay tam of Olivia Ullom, Elaina Ullom, Joslyn Robinson and Henry and the 400 freestyle relay of Elaina Ullom, Ashton Carey, Maddie Ullom and Olivia Ullom.
Taking fourth for the Chiefs were the medley relay team of Kate Myers, Joslyn Robinson, Kaeleigh Flora and Henry, Maddie Ullom in the 200 IM, Emm Costin in the 500 freestyle and Elaina Ullom in the 100 breaststroke.
Adding fifth-place finishes for the Chiefs were the 400 freestyle B relay team of Emma Costin, Lilly Hudson, Maria Casanas and Emma Merrin, Kaeleigh Flora in the 100 butterfly.
