Bellefontaine High School senior Diana VanVoorhis was named the Fourth Congressional District winner of the 2016 Congressional Art Competition during an event Friday evening in Lima hosted by U.S. Congressman Jim Jordan’s Office.

Her chalk pencil drawing entitled, “Lost In Time, Never Forgotten” will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year, along with the district winners from across the United States.
Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Diana will be offered two airfare tickets to visit the display of artwork in the U.S. Capitol and will also be eligible for a scholarship. Rep. Jordan’s Office also can arrange tours in the nation’s Capitol.
The 2016 Congressional Art Competition was open to all high school students residing in Ohio’s Fourth Congressional District. Each high school within the Fourth District was able to select two winners to compete in the district-wide contest.
The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982.
to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, more than 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.
