Bellefontaine Schools Board of Education members accepted at their Monday evening meeting the retirement resignation of Bellefontaine High School principal and longtime district staff member Bill Badenhop, effective Dec. 31.
A 30-year district employee, Mr. Badenhop has worked in the education field for 32 years. In his current role since 2013, he previously served as the district’s business manager from August 2002 to July 2013.
He was hired by Bellefontaine City Schools in 1986 as a middle school science teacher, and also has worked as a high school science teacher and was the high school assistant principal from 1996 to 2002.
“Spending 30 years of a person’s career serving one community is an exceptional gift,” Superintendent Brad Hall said. “We are so thankful for his dedication to our district.
“There is also a wealth of knowledge that is accumulated during that period of time that is irreplaceable. He is going to be greatly missed.”
