Michigan State University strength and conditioning coach Molli Munz, a 1997 Bellefontaine High School graduate, has been named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
Munz was joined by fellow MSU strength coach Lorenzo Guess in receiving the honor. The duo are just two of 23 collegiate strength and conditioning coaches to receive the award. It is the highest honor given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession, and the ceremony is a major highlight at the association’s national conference each year.
Munz and Guess will be presented a blue jacket, which signifies the award, at the national conference on May 6, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas. The 2020 national conference was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Munz is MSU’s Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports. She has been a member of the Spartan strength and conditioning staff since 2008.
Munz earned her Bachelor of Science degree in health-fitness from Central Michigan University where she was a four-year starter for the women’s basketball team. She went on to be a graduated assistant at Michigan State from 2002-2004. Munz earned a Master of Science degree in kinesiology.
At Bellefontaine, Munz was a star basketball player and helped the Lady Chiefs to their first trip to the state Final Four.
