It was a winning senior night for Bellefontaine’s boys soccer team Monday as the Chiefs beat visiting Indian Lake 3-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference game.
The Chiefs improve to 5-2-4 overall and 3-1-1 in the CBC. Indian Lake drops to 2-8-1, 0-5-1.
“It was good to see our guys fired up tonight,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jeff Turner.
“Once their adrenaline calmed down a little bit, we played some really good possession soccer and found many opportunities to score. The defense was sound, and were able to keep the ball under control most of the game.”
Dakota Shell tallied a pair of first-half goals for BHS on assists from Donavan George and Beau Salyer. Max Varner added a goal in the second half on a header from a Kobe Brown cross.
Ryan Johnson recorded five saves in goal for the Chiefs and he picked up his second shutout of the season.
Both teams are in action Wednesday. Bellefontaine travels to Graham and Indian Lake hosts Springfield Shawnee.
