Bellefontaine’s boys track and field team had another banner day Friday at the Central Buckeye Conference meet Friday at Tecumseh High School.
The Chieftain boys won their second straight CBC Kenton Trail division championship and outlasted the entire field of 12 teams with 130.5 points.
“I was proud of the boys for bringing their best to the CBC meet,” said longtime BHS head coach Ben Davis. “We had contributions from every aspect of our team.
“We graduated nearly 90 percent of our points from last year, so we had to do a lot of teaching this year with so many new kids. It is a credit to our coaches and the kids for how quickly they have adjusted to the sport of track and field.”
Tippecanoe was second overall in the boys meet and second in the Kenton Trail with 100 points. Kenton Ridge was third in the division with 60 points, Tecumseh and Shawnee tied for fourth with 44 points and Stebbins was sixth with 40 points.
Bellefontaine’s girls finished in a tie for third in the Kenton Trail division with Tecumseh with 85 points.
