It was a very competitive Logan County track and field championship meet Monday at Riverside, with Bellefontaine’s boys team and Indian Lake’s girls squad emerging with victories.
The Chieftain boys finished with 136.5 points to edge Benjamin Logan, which had 129.
“The county meet presented us with an opportunity to excel and improve as the competition is great,” said Bellefontaine head coach Ben Davis. “We dropped our times in the sprints and had an outstanding day out of the distance crew. Key points were garnered out of our jumps and throws. We need to carry this momentum into next week’s conference championships.”
Indian Lake’s boys team finished third with 67 points, Calvary Christian was fourth with 13.5 points and Riverside took fifth with seven points.
In the girls meet, Indian Lake accumulated 142 points to win the team championship.
Ben Logan came in second with 126, Bellefontaine took third with 72, Calvary Christian finished fourth with 8 and Riverside was fifth with three points.
