Two Bellefontiane Middle School robotics teams and a Bellefontaine High School robotics team are each advancing to state competition in March following their respective performances at recent regional contests.
BMS Team 7865A members Emma Costin, Kaiden Furr, Austin Hammond, Cooper Harman and Annika Reynolds and Team 7865D members Garrett Breede, Alex Cavanaugh, Bryce Keels, Rory Pierce, Anthony Sylvia and Maddie Zedeker will compete March 6 at the Vex Middle School State Championships in Marion.
BHS Team 9185A members Ben Parsons, Dustin VanBuskirk, Zane Warren and Micah Woolf participate in the state competition March 6 and 7, also in Marion.
At Milford High School, Team 9185A qualified for state after winning the final round of competition, receiving the Tournament Championship Award, the Skills Award and the Excellence Award. Also at Brecksville-Broadview Heights in Cleveland, the high school team 9185A received the Design Award and last weekend at the Highland County Competition, they had the top score in skills and received the Skills Award and the Excellence Award.
Team 7865D qualified for state at Brecksville-Broadview Heights, as they competed in the final round of competition. At the Highland County contest, the members made it to the finals against two high school teams.
Also at the recent the Highland County Competition, Team 7865E members Cat Armstrong, Colton Burkholder, Beckham Harman, Cody Hudson, Hayden Maus, Emma Suman finished in fifth place in the morning.
Team 7865D and Team 7865C members Ryan Alexander, Nolan Core, Alex Crabill, Simon Kauffman, AnnaBelle Myers participated in the afternoon play-offs.
Team 7865B members Garrett Flack, Marco Martinez, Ollie Mooreland, Theo Reminder and Seth Taylor and Team 7865F members Cooper Hunt, Jacob Lynch, Conner McKinney, Blaine Mitchell and Luke Steiner also participated in the recent regional competitions.
