A unique class reunion was a big hit in downtown Bellefontaine Saturday night. The Bellefontaine High School Class of ’92 hosted an event called “Home Sweet Home” at The Syndicate.
The name was in reference to the Motley Crue hit song from that era. 1992 BHS grad Aaron Reames spent a year organizing the class reunion.
A $25 ticket was required for entry. The ticket included food and drinks.
The reunion raised $5,000, and the proceeds will be donated to the BHS Athletic Department.
Reames, who lives in Boston, has enjoyed great success in two careers. He works for a large biotech company that identifies functional cures for life-threatening diseases.
The company’s research has gained worldwide notoriety in the last year. A clinical trial has helped Brian Shelton, 64, of Cleveland, seemingly overcome Type I diabetes. Shelton battled the disease for nearly 50 years.
Reames also has a passion for craft beer. He started brewing beer in his garage in 2008 and then founded Bent Water Brewing Company near Boston in December 2015.
The beer is now distributed in nine states, including Ohio. Reames is using his company to make a difference across America. Last month, Bent Water Brewing & Team Fox (Michael J. Fox) launched a collaboration to fight Parkinson’s disease.
Reames lost his grandmother and his wife’s uncle to the disease.
The project is also detailed at www.commonhopebeer.com. You can see more about Bent Water Brewing Company at www.bentwaterbrewing.com.
Reames is the son of Spencer Reames and Anne Reames.
