Benjamin Logan Schools’ board meets in special session at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, in the central office conference room to, “review/select ” applicants for its currently vacant district treasurer position.
School members are expected to open the meeting and soon after enter into executive session for the purpose of reviewing candidates.
Jennifer Sudhoff of Spencercille was appointed Feb. 2 on an interim basis.
She currently works as Lima City Schools’s full-time assistant treasurer, and has been in that position five years.
The school board seeks to find a new full-time treasurer following the resignation of Mandy France, who resigned Feb. 4.
Sudhoff is making $75 per hour in her interim capacity, and has been assisting in the evening as the Ben Logan board seeks a full-time candidate.
Sudhoff said at the time of her appointment that she expects to maintain her interim post for four to six weeks.
The board learned about Sudhoff after a board member reached out to The Ohio Association of School Business Officials and its director provided her name and credentials.
School administrators said Feb. 2 that Sudhoff is bringing some guidance to the board as to how to better streamline the district’s payroll.
In addition to selecting Sudhoff for the interim treasurer seat during the Feb. 2 special meeting, the board agreed to hire Western Ohio Computer Organization of Sidney to perform payroll services at the rate of $60 per hour.
After Assistant Treasurer Kristina Vogel left the district in November, the district has been utilizing the services of the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center to handle its payroll in a temporary arrangement.
The next regular meeting is 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18.
