Benjamin Logan jumped on top early and rolled to a 6-0 win over visiting Indian Lake in a Central Buckeye Conference boys soccer game Monday night.
The Raiders continue to sit atop the CBC Mad River division standings with a 3-0-1 mark. They are 6-2-1 overall.
Indian Lake falls to 2-5-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the CBC.
Ben Logan led 5-0 at halftime and added an insurance goal in the second half. The Raiders outshot Indian Lake 26-1.
“We played really well tonight and that last 20 minutes of the first half was what we’ve been looking for around the goal and finishing off our opportunities,” said BL head coach Jamie Hughes. “We knew that we were going to get our chances and if we could finish at a little higher percentage we could put some goals up, but in this game you never know what’s going to happen and the Lake has three players in Vance, Curtis, and Gaunt who are dangerous around the goal.
“But we were able to get players forward and put a lot of pressure on their backs and it paid off with being able to score six times. Hopefully, that will roll right into Wednesday as we travel to Kenton Ridge where we haven’t won since 2002.”
Josh Tipton and Trey Allen each scored two goals for the Raiders. Tylor Cabot and Caleb Epp each added one goal.
Ben Chamberlain had a pair of assists for the Raiders. Aiden Coons, Kelvin One, Michael Rostorfer and Tipton each added one assist.
Breshon Jacobs recorded his fourth shutout of the season in goal for the Raiders. That sets a new BL season record for shutouts.
Both teams are back in action Wednesday. The Lakers travel to Kenton Ridge and the Lakers host Jonathan Alder.
