Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team outlasted Kenton Ridge in a five-set thriller Monday to earn a spot in Wednesday’s Division II sectional final.
The Raiders won by scores of 22-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 15-9 to improve to 14-10 on the season.
Ben Logan will play Graham at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tecumseh High School with a berth in the district championship on the line.
Molly Vance had a big night to spark Ben Logan. She recorded 16 kills and 13 points serving with five aces.
Kylie Frazier tallied 12 kills, 3 blocks, 17 assists and 11 digs, Jordan Sexstone and Jillian Plikerd recorded 13 digs apiece, Elliott Bailey had 15 digs, Makenna LeVan registered eight kills and was in on six blocks, Ryelle Gibson had six kills and three aces that were clutch in the fifth set, Lynzee Cronkleton dished out 24 assists, added 16 digs and was 21/23 serving with 16 points and Lily Makin contributed six kills, 10 digs, and was 18/18 serving with 10 points and three aces.
Kenton Ridge, which had not played in nearly three weeks because of a coronavirus spike at the school, ends its season with a 10-7 record.
