Clutch pitching and timely hitting helped Benjamin Logan’s baseball team pull out a 3-0 win over host Indian Lake on Thursday in a local Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division battle.
The Raiders push their record to 15-1 overall and stay on top of the Mad River division at 8-1. The Lakers slide to 10-5, 5-4.
Blake Peterson fired a one hitter to power the Raiders on Thursday. He pitched a complete game to earn the win and recorded eight strikeouts.
Ben Logan’s Brady Burrey reached base on a walk in the first inning and eventually advanced to third. Kainan Stoner hit a ground out RBI with two outs to score Burrey later in the inning and put the Raiders ahead 1-0.
In the sixth inning, Stoner hit an RBI double to score Carter Rees and give Ben Logan a 2-0 lead.
The Raiders final score came in the seventh inning. Kade Arn hit a single to give his team a base runner and Andrew Thatcher came in to pinch run. Ben Logan’s offense moved him around to third. Peterson hit an RBI single to bring Thatcher home for a 3-0 score.
Ben Logan’s offense also saw Trey Allen go 2-2.
Logan Evans recorded the Lakers only hit of the game.
Ben Logan hosts Jonathan Alder today in a CBC crossover game, while Indian Lake travels to Tecumseh.

Bellefontaine tops London
Bellefontaine’s baseball team secured a 9-5 win over host London on Thursday in Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail action.
The Chieftains are now 6-7 on the season and 3-6 in the KT standings, while the Red Raiders drop to 2-7, 0-6.
London led 2-1 after three innings until Bellefontaine plated six runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-2 advantage.
Each team scored a run in the fifth inning and again in the sixth inning, which kept the Chieftains on top 9-4.
The Red Raiders added a run in the seventh inning, but couldn’t get any closer.
Offensively for BHS, Gage Pope went 4-5 with a double, Chris Fogan went 3-3 with three RBI, Riley Neer went 2-5 with an RBI, while Alex Caudill, Kevin Gomez and Alex Pulfer each had an RBI.
Pulfer pitched a complete game to earn the win for BHS and tallied eight strikeouts.
Bellefontaine hosts North Union today for a CBC crossover game.

Triad downs Riverside
Triad’s baseball team pulled away from host Riverside for a 9-4 win Thursday during a local non-league meeting.
The Cardinals are now 9-4 overall and the Pirates fall to 6-7.
Both teams were tied 3-3 after three innings of play. Triad pulled away after that, though, scoring one run in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth inning for a 6-3 lead.
Each team scored a run in the sixth inning to keep the Cardinals ahead 7-4. Triad added one last run in the seventh inning.
Ayden Spriggs paced Triad’s offense by going 3-4 with a double and two RBI, Coleman Hauck and Jared Spors both went 2-4 with a double, while Blake Boldman and Ryan Gross each had an RBI.
Hauck recorded the win on the mound with five strikeouts.
For the Pirates, Deven Frilling went 2-3 with a double and an RBI, Warren Shockey went 2-4 and Brody Rhoades added an RBI.
Triad hosts West Jefferson today and Riverside travels to Fairlawn.
